I wanted to Frank Moritz or more times for a WE in the mountains, finally, my summer has so far failed. Frank told me from early on, she was again ill. When, even in the short term Moritz canceled, all my hope was back then. Anja was too engrossed in their books. My last hope was Martin - and he said directly.
We met Friday night in Memmingen and took detours and a stop to the most famous McDonalds Tyrol Kaunertal. We arrived late in our beds brought. Thanks Martin's warm sleeping bag (mine is that is at home) I was, apart from my nose, nice and warm.
the Saturday we left tackle convenient, the alarm rang at 7am and had breakfast only until we could get away and it was half-9th We wanted the parking Riffeltal on the bell tower. The guide and the map showed a crossing over the glacier, but we decided not to take crampons. That was the right decision. About the "new" Riffeljoch (the map is drawn differently than in the area marked) is in fact only one of rock to the summit. From the pass we made a little trip on a rocky peak - a small climbing exercise with the solid hiking boots. In addition, Martin showed me the little remaining ice rink still beat levels, because the pick we had taken. At the summit, there was brief and the sun, otherwise the weather was rather cloudy and foggy. When we returned to the car were, we cooked the first time - the hunger was great. Unfortunately it started well then to rain as we had prepared a welcoming place. So we set it in the car comfortably.
drove around 6 we continue to the glacier park and surveyed the wall of the Weißseespitze, which showed at last. She looked much better than I had expected. To pass the time we visited the walk-crevasse, which was nothing more than a milled through the glacier, and pick sparkled a little by the half-pipe. After it was dark, we climbed into our beds again, this time I needed but until I was warm and so was my night very short. When the alarm clock rang at 5, it was very foggy - at night it had rained in the meantime and it was starry. We decided not to sleep for another hour. At 6 the fog was gone, the wall open and we were quickly out of bed. At breakfast, we surveyed the wall - it had changed. During the night there had been much rocks, not in the wall, but this was plain and simply not looked inviting. So we decided to rise above the normal route to the summit. At 7 came yet another group (3 people) that went into the wall. We shuffled up the glacier on the Radrackspur. The ridge was again frozen thawed permafrost, which I found extremely uncomfortable to go. Every now and then the sun came through and you could see down to the parking lot. The ridge ran and when we were finally up, one saw anything. Just know - we even had to look for the summit cross, which had previously shone down on us. So we went quickly on the descent. Meanwhile, the stones were covered with snow. The further we got down, the greater our hunger and the softer the Geschmodder was among us. The Radrackspur on the glacier was now too soft and we were in deep snow fairly quickly down, directly into the glacier restaurant to steak and chips.
this I had yet again made it into the ice and that was a really nice Season final weekend.
